Rich Joudy Retiring
After 45 Years!

We dug into the files for this photo of Rich - not sure of the date, but we can all agree he hasn't aged a day since it was taken!
All Hearst colleagues are invited to a gathering this Thursday, beginning at 10 a.m., at The News-Times office for a celebration honoring Rich and his years of service in the IT Department.
Congratulations Rich and enjoy your retirement!

Greenwich Time staffers
March in 375th Parade

The culmination of the Town of Greenwich's 375th celebration was this past Sunday. And to mark the occasion, Greenwich Time staffers proudly showed our colors with a banner and sandwich boards with images of notable Greenwich Time front pages.
Participating were Tom Mellana, Randi Weiner, Paul Schott, Ken Borsuk, Silvia Foster-Frau, Kaitlyn Krasselt, Anthony Flook and Rich Medeiros. Greenwich Time reporter Robert Marchant was also there, but couldn't participate as someone had to cover the event!

Leadership Expansion
of Sports Department

Executive Director Bobbie Roessner made the following announcement last week.

I’m pleased to announce an expansion of our Sports Department’s leadership. Instead of one group sports editor, we will have two – Gary Rogo will concentrate on production and presentation across our four daily properties, while Brian Koonz will oversee content. Brian will continue to write his column, but on Sundays only.

Chris McNamee is being promoted to deputy sports editor, reporting jointly to Gary and Brian.

This change will bring new energy and juice to the department, allowing for an intensified focus on our central mission: unique local enterprise, heavily concentrated on high school sports.

As a former Sunday editor at the News-Times and metro editor at the Connecticut Post, Brian knows the landscape well, and he is filled with creative ideas. He’ll work directly with our sports reporters to generate surprising approaches and compelling storytelling. Gary will take his flair for presentation to a new level, especially in our digital edition, where he has led the way with bonus pages. He’ll continue to oversee and assist the pagination team, which carries an extremely heavy load on a nightly basis. All three will lead the department in finding new ways to push high-value content to our free websites.

I have no doubt there are great things to come. And welcome back to the newsroom, Brian!

Bobbie
